DECEMBER
Early December 2017 – January 2018
Voted the best Christmas Fair at Advent in Europe-TWICE!
A title that Zagreb has won for the past two consecutive years and the magic is set to continue in the Croatian capital. If you have ever enjoyed the run up to Christmas in Cologne, Vienna or Prague then you will love this. The city centre twinkles and glistens with millions of lights and candles. Traditional wooden huts and stalls sell Christmas gifts, cards, mulled wine, cookies, hot snacks. There’s a concert or 20 with live music and an amazing open-air ice rink with some spectacular curves. Every year there are some amazing “wintery” surprises. It just gets better and better. Great bargains for Christmas gifts. Various locations including Zrinjevac Park and Trg Ban Jelacic. Many hotels offer good deals in December and usually airlines offer return fares to Zagreb for around €150 or less on certain dates. www.adventzagreb.com
Zagreb is a worthy place for a city break destination. Over 40 museums show history, art, torture, illusions, broken relationships, railways, banks and as many galleries showing works of art from Croatian and international artists. And there is a unique food and drink scene. Zagreb is a city claiming to be Europe’s newest capital city.
